- After being a Die-Hard USR user for quite a few years, I went to a
- Cardinal modem (I explained why USR sucks in an earlier message).
-
- The only think I dont like about the Cardinal modem is that after
- issuing an ATDT command, and then a NO CARRIER condition exists (i.e.
- BUSY, or I press CR to abort), a SUCESSIVE ATDT command takes
- approximately five seconds before the modem actualy initiates dialing.
-
- Note that there is NO PAUSE on the FIRST ATDT command.
- Note that if you wait approximately five seconds before attempting a
- redial, there will not be a delay.
-
- Hence, Between ATDT command issues, a delay of atlease five seconds is
- the minimum space between actual dialing. I suspect this is due to some
- software reseting procedure in the modem. While not a big problem
- (unless you are wardialing entire prefixes, and wish to minimize time
- spent), it can be slightly anoying.
-
- Any suggestions as to a fix for this problem?
